Who We Are
Glacier Rock Enterprises Incorporated is co-owned by Troy and Gail Temme who grew up in Northeast Wisconsin. In addition to Glacier Rock Enterprises, they are also co-owners of a large family dairy farm in Newton that Gail grew up on and was general manager for over 18 years, under Gail’s direction it grew to over 5,000 cows and over 50 employees and is now the tour farm for Farm Wisconsin which Gail also helped establish. Troy designed portions of the two farm digesters and he oversaw the construction of and operated them for over 8 years producing energy and selling it to Wisconsin public service to power your homes right here in Northeast Wisconsin. Troy then set up the farm with a company that now pipes the methane gas underground offsite to scrub the gas and inject it directly into the natural gas mainline as sustainable green energy biogas.
In 1992 they established and operated a liquid waste transport company in Manitowoc county called Maritime Liquid Waste Transport Inc a septic tank, holding tank, grease trap, sludge pumping, and dragline irrigation business. They also owned an on-site human wastewater treatment facility, processing over 9 million gallons a year of wastewater, acquiring over 20 years of experience in handling and processing organic waste material. In addition to the treatment facility, they also owned and operated a large-scale aquaponics system, raising tilapia fish and using their nutrients to grow romaine lettuce, strawberries, basil, tomatoes, and cucumbers. This system is now in Ethiopia and is feeding a village and providing sustainability to them.
Looking to the Future
In 2010 they sold the waste transport company but kept the waste treatment and irrigation part of the company in order to focus more on the dairy farm, aquaponics system, digester bacteria, and equipment sales of Glacier Rock Enterprises selling the waste treatment facility in 2017.
In 2017 Glacier Rock moved operations to Door County WI to concentrate on their landscaping/excavating business specializing in shoreline restoration that includes riprap and dimension stone placing along with stone sales and hauling with their Peterbilt rock truck or Freightliner heavy duty rollback flatbed for hauling dimension stone and equipment including their tracked loader and excavator for any type of landscaping or demolition work.
Glacier Rock is also your source for welding /fabrication/machining/ vintage auto service/restoration and metal art/stone art fabrication in their state-of-the-art facility.
